1st September, 2013
Today around 11am we went out to their no. 1 (katanya) shopping mall called Siam Paragon. It was suggested by the receptionist, yes the same lady. Macam-macam tempat dia recommend to us but since we’re going to be here for quite sometime, we told her that we will go to the sight seeing places, shopping for household, decor etc. in the future. Tau je la kita orang Malaysia nie, the first place that we want to go is places like KLCC, Pavilion etc.. To go to the BTS (Bangkok Mass Transport System) station from our place, we have to use the hotel’s tuk tuk. Tuk-tuk nie lebih kurang macam go kart yang bawak luggage kat hotel cuma depan tempat driver macam motorsikal, tempat duduk pun satu untuk driver aje.
Sampai kat one of the BTS nearer to our place nie, kita orang pegi dekat counter ticket sebab nak tukar duit ke duit siling untuk beli ticket. Sibuk la tengok map and luckily BTS nie lebih kurang macam LRT, it’s written both in thai and english. So memang tak ada problem. Husband I je la yang panic bila duit lambat keluar dari mesin and risau takut salah station nak pegi, I kata relax la, leave it to me, wah, confident bukan main lagi I. To be honest with you, I was never worried kalau jalan-jalan ke negara orang because we can always ask the people around us and yang penting jangan panic. I always believe we will always find a way, it is just a matter of time or some adjustment, yang penting kena confident. I kata kat dia “ jangan jadi negative, think positive, macam mana kita nak masuk Amazing Race (giler perasan) kalau things as simple as this pun you dah worried....” Amazing Race la konon aritu Masterchef AU...melampau la perbandingan I nie... hahaha... I tambah lagi, “for as long as you’re with me, everything will be allright”...cewahhh.... *sambil mengangkat kening dengan bulu kening yang berselerak. Then husband I jeling ke atas...
Sampai kat Siam Paragon, wah... besarnya tempat nie. Oh yeah.. masa nak masuk dalam, all of the visitors/shoppers kena lalu screen detector macam kat airport. This is new to us, shopping centre kat negara kita mana ada kan. Anyway, tempat nie jual branded item. I tak masuk lagi untuk check the price, not now because the main idea like I said, I nak survey benda lain. Beside tak ada branded item I nak beli dah... yang ada kat rumah tu tak pakai-pakai (wah...kakak dah mature, ahak!). But kalau I pegi Lundun ke Puris in the future, tendecy nak beli tu mungkin ada kot..hehe..maybe la kannn.. So anyway, we decided to cari tempat makan. Turun naik turun naik jalan-jalan kat foodcourt cari tempat yang halal. Almost semua or 99% food yang dijual kat foodcourt nie mesti ada pork. Orang Bangkok/Thai nie suka makan babi rupanya. Ingatkan seafood je. Lastly, jumpa jugak akhirnya foodstall yang jual makanan halal. Kecik je tempat nie and the food, alahai.. kalau kat KL takde nye I nak order makanan nie, rupa sendu je but memandangkan tak ada choice and lapar yang amat, I main order je, itupun I ikut apa minah sebelah I order. Kita orang ada bawak telur rebus dua biji tapi nak la jugak makan makanan yang proper kan. Masa nak order husband I ingat boleh bayar kat food stall tu, rupa-rupanya kena beli card and tolak dari situ. Itupun ada mamat kat belakang bagitau. Husband I cakap, dia cakap melayu dengan husband I, I think sebab dia dengar I cakap, I cari tempat duduk sementara tunggu husband I bayar and ambik food. Mamat nie pun beli kat sini jugak. I tell you, foodcourt dia sangat besar dan luas, orang pun sangat ramai, susah nak cari seat.
Bila husband I hantar food kat meja, I peratikan pinggan, fork spoon semua sama je dengan orang sebelah menyebelah. Then bila nak makan, I cakap kat husband I, have you notice that, although we eat halal food but we share the same pinggan/fork/spoon nie. So you get what I mean? Husband I cakap, pingggan mangkuk nie semua dorang dah cuci bersih, I tanya, what about samak and all? Dia cakap, God knows our intention. I agree and yang penting tak makan oink-oink and ayam sembelih according to Islamic rules. Yela, kita tinggal kat perantauan nie bukan semua negara cater to all of our needs and life doesn’t revolve around us alone.

(Dessert dorang lebih kurang macam kita, in fact I ordered ice kacang and husband I cendol singapore, next time la I order yang lain)
Anyway, lepas makan we went to do more survey and went to Siam Center which was next to Siam Paragon nie. We saw another halal food, I think it was an Indian food or middle eastern, tak ingat and we told ourselves that we will go to this foodcourt the next time we come here. We went further and my husband bought a universal adaptor, the want that we brought from KL doesn’t fit well to the socket in our place. After that we decided to have some dessert. Kita orang tengok ramainya budak-budak remaja/budak sekolah tengah buat homework/belajar kat situ. Wah..impress la tengok dorang nie. Tengah having our dessert tiba-tiba we heard something breaking and semua orang tengok ke arah bunyi itu. Cook siap keluar nak check, I paksa husband I pegi tengok and I suruh bawak camera lagi hehe... Bila husband I balik semula ingat ada orang terjun ke apa ke, tapi kaca kat tepi escalator tiba-tiba pecah bederai. Oh yeah.. anyway we go, we saw lots of thai’s people nie membeli belah. I believe dorang nie orang thai base on rupa dorang and cara dorang becakap. Orang thai nie kaya-kaya la. So far semua orang thai yang I jumpa were very polite, kalau dia terlanggar kita masa bejalan, cepat-cepat dorang mintak maaf, tak kira muda ke tua. Not only that, they are very helpful. Muka sentiasa senyum and tunduk-tunduk lagi. Tak pernah I pegi tempat yang semua orang dia baik-baik macam kat Bangkok nie, tak tau la lepas nie I akan jumpa dengan yang rude. Like I said so far so good, the people are warm and friendly.
Then we decided to go back to Siam Paragon to buy groceries at Gourmet Market Hall that was so big and huge on the ground floor. Tercengang I tengok and orang yang shopping kat situ pun ramai jugak. We were so glad that we found lots of halal food around the place. Mula-mula I ingat cuma things like kicap, chili sauce, makanan tin etc je yang halal rupa-rupanya ayam halal pun ada. Itupun husband I yang nampak. So if you come or live in Bangkok, nak cari barangan untuk di masak yang halal, it is not an issue. Lepas habis shopping, kita orang pikir, takan nak naik BTS sebab barangan terlampau banyak. Masa nak keluar dari shopping centre tu, it was said dekat sign yang trolley tak boleh bawak keluar but guard kat situ was so kind, dia suruh bawak sampai ke jalan, baik kan? Not only that masa I suruh husband I tunggu kat dalam masa I nak cari teksi, another guard datang kat husband I and inform him where to get the teksi etc. Oh yeah..masa kita orang salah level nak pegi keluar another guy, tukang sapu kat situ, bagitau mana lift nak naik, siap tunjukkan, bagitau level berapa and dia tunggu sampai kita orang masuk lift... baik kan? Susah jugak nak naik teksi around that time sebab semua penuh. Then we decided to use tuk-tuk again. It was quite an experience because masa pegi naik tuk-tuk sekejap je tapi masa balik nie, our place kan jauh so, macam-macam kita orang tengok/nampak and tuk-tuk nie giler punya bawak tapi sangat cool. Tahan je la dengan bau asap bas and kereta kiri kanan serta rambutku walau sudah diikat tapi masih berserabai, havoc but I enjoyed the experience very much.
Sekian catatan I kali ini...
